🐕 Guild Wars 2 Beta Characters
Last time, there weren't restrictions on Professions. (This time, if you made a Harbinger, for example, it will not be available in the next Beta.) If you used a particular Profession, it was still available in the next Beta. Though, Elite Specializations were only offered in the last Beta, anyway.
You get 5 slots to create a character (which I believe is the same amount you got in the original Guild Wars). However, in the original you really only had 6 professions and one race to pick from: Humans. In GW2 you now have 5 races to pick from: the Charr, Humans, Norn, Asura and Sylvari. The Asura and Sylvari were locked for the beta.
As announced on Tuesday, Guild Wars 2 is gearing up for a massive beta starting today to allow players to test out the new weaponmaster training system coming in Secrets of the Obscure. The weaponmaster training system allows base classes to use the weapons of their respective elite specs for the first time, meaning your old-school Ranger can

Playing on a normal, non-beta character will use your real account as usual. So basically the beta is a partitioned, safe play space, where you can't break anything or gain any advantage. Beta characters also typically start fully leveled and with a bunch of gear boxes, so you can easily setup a full build to test with.
Beta characters keep their basic utility skills while gliding (but i am pretty sure that you can't use them). Because of this the beta characters cant use the special gliding utility skills either (like gaining extra height). Edited June 29 by GODh.3892 typo
Whatever your preference, character creation in Guild Wars 2 has improved dramatically since the our first step in Tyria nearly seven years ago. We grabbed some footage to help spark some ideas on
One thing that's important to note about character customization is a little lore bit from GW1 used to explain character customization in lore: Llye and the Aesthetic krewe. Asura basically used humans in the past as guinea pigs to test extreme body reconstruction technology. They could even change the gender of people.
Changing it now does nothing, and repping it has not impact on your assignment. In the WvW panel (B) there are two new tabs at the bottom which show all of your guilds and what teams they are assigned to. It will also tell you in the last tab which team you are assigned to for the duration of the beta. 1.
The second Guild Wars 2 beta weekend has come and gone, beginning with characters created and ending with an Asuran invasion of the human city of Divinity's Reach, the tiny brainiacs and their
It's conceivably possible that someone either came up with the name after the beta ended and grabbed it, or saw my name, liked it, and grabbed it, but it's weird enough I figured I'd check here to see if this was a known bug with beta characters, and how long it might take to get released, before I wasted a name change contract on a variation.
The beta starts on Aug. 17 and will end on Aug. 21. Guild Wars 2 End of Dragons will host limited-time beta events for players to try out the new Elite Specializations in the upcoming expansion

Nothing on your main characters will be affected by the beta, so they also won't be able to play around with the specs. You have to make a new character for those. You CAN join pvp and wvw matches with the beta specs. Any achievements, reward track progress, rank experience you get on these beta characters, basically aren't real.
